Literary reflections of a Mother – By Tina Mouneimné van Roeyen

Initially: small baby, novice mum, hostile world.

To be on the safe side, therefore, she sticks to what she knows during her strolling. Or rather, to what she thinks she knows.

Over the course of the day, what has emerged as an unfortunate obligation becomes an inexhaustible source of inspiration, not to mention an excellent opportunity to forge links, nourish reflection or share moments of intimacy.

Tribute to the urban walk, mixing the present with the past, creation of paintings – almost images -, built around the binomials “I stroll / she discovers” and “She strolls / I discover.

Tina Mouneimné van Roeyens book: Je pousse donc je suis offers a view on motherhood, blending and, ultimately, on life.

Upon arrival: baby grows, mom gets bolder and the world becomes welcoming.
I stroll, you stroll, he strolls …

The book (in French) can be orderer here.

Tina was born in Beirut in 1978 and has been exposed, from a very young age, to multilingualism and cultural diversity. In the meantime she has become a citizen of the world and, incidentally, a doctor in the humanities, specialized in French and Francophone literature. She is the author of a book on the inclusion of immigrant writers in Québec’s literary landscape among other analysis of literary works. She is also the co-editor of a collection of testimonials on volunteerism.
Big dreamer and traveler. In Belgium since 2007.
